ResNet Wireless Network Access (also called ResNet Wireless) is a wireless Ethernet network that allows access from residence halls and Seavers suites.

ResNet Wireless lets you connect to the internet using your wireless network card, and is especially useful for laptop computers- when connected, you can take your laptop to any common area in a residence building and not lose your Internet connection!*

ResNet Wireless provides access to E-mail, web surfing, file transfers, and other services of the Internet.

We now offer 54 Mbps connections via the 802.11G standard!

Did you know?

You can connect to ResNet Wireless with B, G, or N type wireless network cards!
If your network card is a B card, it will automatically connect at 11 Mbps**.
If your card is a G or N card, it will connect at 54 Mbps***.

ResNet Wireless is available in the following common areas of the Residence Halls:

  • Study Lounges
  • Lobby & Recreation rooms
  • Laundry rooms

You may be able to connect wirelessly in-room as well, but this is fully dependent upon your room's proximity to a wireless common area. We cannot guarantee your room will have access to a wireless signal.

* Certain restrictions apply - we cannot guarantee signal availability or signal strength at any given place at any given time as geographic, architectural, and environmental factors affect wireless coverage. ResNet Wireless is not yet available in Stone Ridge Commons.
** Connection speeds may vary between 1 and 11 Mbps dependent upon your distance from the nearest access point.
*** Connection speeds may vary between 1 and 54 Mbps dependent upon your distance from the nearest access point.
