About The GameLAN...
GameLAN is a local area
network that runs "on top of ResNet."
It allows you to play all of your network games within your
Residence Hall and across Residence Halls!
GameLAN is compatible with PCs and game
consoles such as Playstation 2 and XBox 360.
To use GameLAN, you must first register your computer or device
on ResNet. Any time you want to use the device on GameLAN,
move it to the GameLAN by logging into My.ResNet.
Once you have a device in the GameLAN, it can communicate with
any other device in the GameLAN on campus.
Devices in the GameLAN do not have WWW Internet access, so you won't
be able to browse the web or check your email from these devices.
If you need to remove your device from the
GameLAN (i.e. you need to move your computer back to ResNet
so you can access the Internet for a research project), just visit
My.ResNet
and move the device back to ResNet.
